Amy & Will ~ 8.18.12

My dear wedding planner friend Heather Guthrie from At the Heels Weddings & Events came to me with a unique request.  Of course I immediately said yes, because after all here at DG Invites we LOVE unique!!  I met with her bride Amy who not too far in the future would be saying I Do at the Henry Hall Wilson House in Charlotte, NC.  She was looking for a very unique thumbprint guest book sign.  Amy is Chinese and Will is not.  She wanted to create something that would beautifully incorporate her heritage into the wedding.  What we did was design a the thumbprint guest book sign in black and white to look like a pond....a Coy pond. It had a sign for directions and example prints created by the bride and groom.  All of her guests then used lots of bright, fun colors to place their thumbprints on the sign.  And with markers turn the prints into their own little coy fish and sign their names...genius!!  I loved this idea and was so excited to create it.  Here are a few images of the finished product and the happy couple.  Congratulations Amy & Will....we wish you a lifetime of happiness and love :)

Amy & Andrew ~ 6.09.12

When Amy and I first met {at a GREAT hipster place known as Central Coffee in Plaza Midwood} little did I know where our journey would take us. Unsure of really what she was looking for in an invitation, we explored several ideas. It came down to a lovely classic invite with ecru linen, ecru satin ribbon and a layer of navy linen. All printed with black raised fonts. It was a beauty and oh so perfect for their day.

From there we worked on a ceremony program, rehearsal dinner place cards and a wonderful masterpiece of a table assignment display for the reception. We loved the table assignments for a number of reasons.  Their simplicity, the green shutters they hung from that were perfect for a wedding at The Vanlandingham Estate and the different shaped cards to add just enough of something special.  All again were printed on an ecru linen stock with black writing.

So where are the pictures of this masterpiece?  Well we couldn't just show you pictures of the printed items now could we....so they are among others taken by their wedding photographer Jenna Thomas of
Red, White & Green.  We do not know her personally as of yet, but we think she was the perfect fit for Amy & Andrews wedding!  You can view more pictures from the wedding here on Jenna's Blog. Or you can visit our Facebook Page for additional photos as well.  We hope you enjoy!!

Thank you Studio SGS Photography for the great photos of the Invite, Program & Place Cards.

Melissa & Zach ~ 3.17.12

Happy St. Patrick's Day!  Ya we realize we are slow to catch up on blogging from everything we have done this year but you have to notice the effort...maybe?!!?  Well back ON St. Patty's Day was the ever so elegant wedding of Melissa and Zach.  With most of our couples grooms tend not be be very involved in the invitation process...with these guys it couldn't have been more opposite!  Zach was completely involved in the process and had lot's of great ideas.  With both of them so eager to plan the wedding you can see why it was so fabulous!!  They were married at Myers Park United Methodist Church in Charlotte and continued the celebration at Carmel Country Club.

Carmel Country Club is pretty well known for their lanterns throughout the property.  Melissa & Zach really wanted to incorporate this without being too over the top.  We started out with a three layered Save the Date. A textured blue, shimmer mint green and a matte white top layer.  We printed it in both black and blue raised (thermography) printing.  The invitation we kept with the same idea but switched it up to a horizontal style invite. It included an rsvp as well as an additional information card.  We also custom lined the inner envelopes with the great shimmer mint green and printed all of their guest names/addresses.  Beyond the invitation we did their table numbers, ceremony programs, thank you card, some additional reception signage and the touch of St. Patrick's Day....4 Leaf Clovers as the escort cards. They put them on champagne glasses filled with Guinness...AWESOME!

Maria & David

So we loved Maria and David for so many reasons.  One of course being that they chose DG Invites to create their Wedding Masterpiece!!  Their colors were Aqua, Silver and Orange. We are talking super fun and bright here folks....SOO great to work on!  It was also perfect for a June Wedding of which I might add was the perfect day for an amazing outdoor celebration.  We created their invitations, ceremony programs, table numbers, place cards, table assignments, thank you cards, welcome stickers, wedding timelines, menus, and other signage that included Advice, Cards, Cake Flavors and More!!  See their fantastic review below and a photo sneak peek since we can not contain ourselves any longer.  SOOO many more pictures to come!

"Darci of DG Invites was an amazing person to work with. Not only was she extremely creative in crafting my stationary, but she was also quick to respond to calls and emails which is very important when planning a wedding. The end result was amazing! She completely understood the look and design I had envisioned. Wedding professionals who have been in the business for over 15 years commented on how my stationary was one of the most beautiful they had seen. The quality was superb and prices reasonable. I would 100% recommend her services to every bride! Thank you Darci!"

Sheila & Stephen

I know we always say this and it's hard not to when you truly have so many amazing clients...but we loved Sheila!  We met her at the Bridal Showcase in Uptown last August and she fell in love with one of our other ticket invitations.  Her and Stephen were just married this past Memorial Day Weekend.  She had so many great ideas, knew she wanted a ticket invitation, knew her colors were silver and green, knew she wanted some form of the Charlotte skyline and a postcard rsvp. So the challenge?  Organizing all of the information... accommodations, invite, rsvp, music requests, itinerary of the weekends events and then some. I think we did a great job of organizing!  All held together in a custom silver pocket with matching monogram sticker.  From there we also designed custom stationery for her and the flower girl.  Enjoy!
